What a reverential feeling is to watch our old family photos! Our old tattered photo albums keep the dearest photos of our nearest town and dearest. These pages of family history contained in a photo album represent a visual genealogical history of different periods, characters and life stories. Therefore, it is natural to protect the memories of family photos from the destructive influence of time.
But how we save the pictures?
The most favorable conditions for storing photo album are those which, without drastic fluctuations in temperature and humidity. The proper temperature is the same as humans - not too cold and not very hot, about 18-20 centigrade degrees. An airtight case made of high quality plastic could become the best place and way to keep the photo albums. Boxes marked "File storage" also may be appropriate to keep records, but not as good in the protection of various external influences such as plastic. It is also essential to ensure that the case material is that it contains no PVC. The same concerns the transparency albums with pages that can be put in. Pages with PVC-material compartments tend to be chemically unstable and can damage photos. Decomposable chemical components can produce different color stains. Moreover, they often can cause the picture to get stuck into the compartments, making it impossible to remove the picture of the compartment.
Again, the type of photo album pages is not recommended for use is that with pages of adhesive, called magnetic or magic. They are made of cardboard and plastic with a thin strip of latex. A photo of the transparent plastic cover glued to the page with the help of strips of latex, but the strips can leave yellow spots on the image. Some time later, the adhesive will be so hard to be impossible to get the photo from the site without harming it.

On the other side of a photograph might be a title with information useful about the people in the photo, the date, venue and the photographer. You can copy the information for each photo and use it on the new album with photo right. Then you will not have to take photos of the compartments only to read the text, everything will be right before your eyes and you will see through the album a more convenient way.
By putting your photos in another album, it is advisable to preserve the original chronological order. This will help you obtain information further when looking through the album, for example, on the development of family relationships.
If a photo album is in good condition and wishes it as it is, you can use the method of encapsulation of pages. This method involves the process of putting on each page between two pieces of plastic polymers, as MYLAR-D or Melinex 516. Encapsulation helps protect the photographs of wear, damage, dust and other adverse environmental effects. This method also good for preserving photographs fragile and broken, but not recommended for modern color photos.
